CHARACTER: CANON SECTION
NAME: Tsuyu Asui
AGE: 15
CANON: My Hero Academia

CANON HISTORY: here
CANON PERSONALITY: Straightforward, plain spoken, laid back, and friendly above all else, Tsuyu is a girl who always says what's on her mind and thinks about the people she interacts with on a day to day basis. She prefers others using her first name, and will even insist that her friends call her 'Tsu' because she sees that the simple little change does wonders for making here seem far more approachable than her odd, frog-like features and habits would lead others to believe. Following that, she likes refer to her classmates by the dimunitive '-chan' whenever she has the chance-- including the boys-- in part because she knows she appears unapproachable.

And, as a young woman who is both odd in appearance and terribly busy with her responsibilities for taking care of her little brother and sister, Tsuyu wants nothing more than to make a few lasting friendships and help the people around her.

Tsuyu is patient and willing to tolerate and engage in all manners of odd scenarios for the sake of forging friendships-- partly beause there are times when she understands that the other party involved shares her feelings of being somewhat lonely. Her friendship with Mongoose Habuko in middle school was based around this, for Habuko was similar to Tsuyu in having an obviously inhuman appearance (due to her physical 'quirks' of both a mongoose and a snake). Habuko would frequently pester Tsuyu because she could, repeatedly freezing Tsuyu in place and outright stalking Tsuyu before she was called out on it. The two of them were friends ever since and, despite going to different high schools, still maintain contact with eachother regularly. Beyond this, Tsuyu is the only one who bothers paying attention to the arrogant and foppish Yuuga Aoyama when he is being a ham, and she is unafraid to retaliate with a swift-- and literal-- tongue lashing when the dimunitive avatar of perversion, Minoru Mineta, is making a grab for her chest.

With friends that she feels particularly close to, like Ochako Uraraka or Izuku Midoriya, Tsu isn't afraid to openly show her affections or call her friends out if it's necessary. Tsu and Ochako both openly hold hands in moments where they see the other needs comfort, and do call eachother nicknames like 'Hon' at times. It's also Tsu who openly points it out when Ochako is distracted by her crush on Izuku when she seems to be acting uncharacteristically quiet. However, Tsu is also the one to point out to Izuku and a group of other classmates that they're no better than villains if they break the law and start a fight in order to save one of their own.

Because, even though she is worried about their missing friend just as much as they are, she doesn't want to see her friends getting hurt. These words, though honest and said with good intentions, bother Tsu so much that she has to go apologize to them after the rescue mission has been successfully accomplished. Not only was she worried about their physical well fare, like she does with all of her classmates, teachers, and acquaintances, but she was worried about hurting them emotionally with her words.

Even if they were said with the best of intentions. Even if everyone understood her reasons and accepted them without question.

Tsu extends great courtesies to those she considers to be among her friends, but enemies taking those same courtesies is enough to spark her anger. When a girl close to her age, Himiko Toga, attacked Tsu and Ochako during a training camp and started using those same dimunitives that Tsu uses for others and insists that they use for her, she snapped at Himiko and declared openly that only her friends are allowed to use those nicknames-- and her friends are what she prizes the most in her life.

The bright, friendly atmosphere Tsu wants to bring around with her is reflected in the superhero nickname she chose for herself: "Froppy." She always knew that she wanted to use that nickname from the time she decided she would be a hero when she was a child, and it's simplicity and quirky feel conveys everything about Tsu in a single, nonsensical word. It's happy, it's frendly, it's approachable...even if it is a little odd.

Just like Tsu is.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Tsuyu's canon abilities are largely associated with her Mutant Trait, known as a Quirk in-universe, that gives her a frog-like appearance abilities. Not only is Tsuyu a more than adept swimmer, but she is able to scale sheer walls with just her hands and feet, shoot her tongue out to approximately 20 meters, jumping long distances, and she has enough strength to haul around her classmates or teacher with relative ease. She's also able to spit out her stomach to wash it and secrete a toxic slime that really only stings-- though, these are relatively useless by her own assessment.

Beyond this, she is an observant and compassionate young woman who pays attentio to the people around her, she is a loving older sister who is glad to be able to take care of her younger siblings, and she is noted to be in the top ten of her high school class. While she is no genius, she is more than adequately intelligent to understand the deeper nuances of what's happening around her and plan accordingly.
